Boxing is one of the few training modalities with empirical evidence supporting its application to mental health. Many people don’t engage in fitness due to poor mental health brought about by trauma and depression. We want to address this and have designed a specialised 8-week programme that runs in conjunction with psychotherapy, to help a person on the road to recovery.

    1. Confidence and Self belief : The programme aims at addressing the root cause of a drop in        confidence and how best to develop confidence. The programme is well suited to those that          have issues with such things as body issues, self-doubt, or lack a general belief in their                  competence.
    2. Focus: If you are having trouble with focussing at work or home then this will be the                  programme for you. The programme is well suited for those who have trouble concentrating       due to competing demands, unresolved trauma, or a general wandering mind.
    3. Mood and energy: If you are struggling with mood regulation or lacking in energy then
    you might want to enrol in the mood and energy programme. The programme is especially          useful for those suffering depression, low mood or general lethargy.
    4 . Anger: If you are struggling to control your anger or believe that you have anger issues we      have a dedicated programme to address your needs. Boxing has long been recognised as a           useful means of dealing with anger management, especially when coupled with
   psychotherapy.
    5. Motivational kick start: Do you have key projects that you are wanting to start? Do you
    have fail to get going due to procrastination or other issues with motivation? If any of this
    sounds like you, our motivational kick start programme may be just what you are looking for.
The format for each programme:
– An assigned coach who will provide personal training, design a boxing programme to meet your requirements and at your level and be your own motivational coach
– A dedicated psychologist who will work with you one-on-one in your area of focus.
STRENGTHEN
Core to Spartans mind is our outreach programme. Our goal with outreach is to strengthen youth and ex-offenders. With our dedicated 12-week programme, selected youth and ex-offenders will go through our Futureselves programme, designed to strengthen them for the next stage in life. The programme consists of both psychometric and psychological intervention and physical fitness underpinned, naturally, by boxing.
OPTIMISE
At the other end of the spectrum is optimisation, which is the development of what we call the Spartans Mindset. For this, we have formed partnerships to offer our members tailored programmes to optimise mental health.
  1. What’s the difference between mental and physical health? Other than physical being about the body and mental being about emotions, social and psychological wellbeing – not that much. They are impacted by similar things, they both impact how you feel and they’re completely intertwined.   2. Why measure Mental Fitness? If you can’t measure something, you can’t truly understand it and take the right steps to improve it.   4. How do you measure Mental Fitness? We ask you questions which only take a minute to complete, using our algorithm, this calculates your overall Mental Fitness score, and the break down by Mental Fitness pillars; Calm, Focus and Energy.   7. How often should I use the app? As often as you want – the more you use it, the more value you’ll get out of it. But we’ve designed it so that it’s not too onerous. I personally enjoy using it when I first wake up – it helps set me up for my day.
  8. Why do I have to answer questions? By taking a brief moment to answer questions regularly, it makes you think about how you are actually feeling. This can help you to become more aware of your own thoughts, behaviours and emotions which all contribute to Mental Fitness and how you feel day to day. It’s also the best way for us to measure.   9. What are we measuring? We are measuring emotions, behaviours and thoughts that you have about yourself. Your answers to questions create a score and our algorithm calculates this score into an overall mental fitness score and the breakdown of your energy, calm and focus levels.
